4. Purpose of the processing of personal data / purpose of use of the register
Websites
Personal data collected from the visitkarelia.fi and dmo.visitkarelia.fi websites is used for the purpose of targeting content and advertising and developing online services.
Email marketing
Users who fill in the newsletter subscription form on the dmo.visitkarelia.fi website give the Controller consent to the storage and processing of personal data as described in this privacy statement. Email marketing is carried out using a separate email system. The purpose of the newsletters and email marketing is to provide information and to manage marketing communications and stakeholder relationships.
Surveys and draws
Personal data provided by users in connection with surveys and draws conducted on the visitkarelia.fi and dmo.visitkarelia.fi websites is used for the purpose of research and for the management of customer relationship. Personal data is not collected in a separate register in social media contests organised by VisitKarelia, but personal data may be requested from the winner of the draw for the delivery of prizes.
Events
Contact information may be collected from VisitKarelia event participants for the purpose of participation and information related to the event, training or other occasion.
5. Data content of the register
The marketing register may contain the following personal data:

-Name of the company/organisation
-Postal address and telephone number

-Customer’s own notification through forms available at fairs or on the websites
-IP-address-specific data collected from the websites with the user’s consent
7. Regular disclosure and transfer of data outside the EU or the European Economic Area
Personal data may be transferred outside the EU as the data is stored only in electronic format and the servers of our service providers may be located outside the EU (e.g. in the United States). The transfer of personal data outside the EU is carried out in accordance with the data protection legislation, and data is only transferred to companies with the EU-US Privacy Shield certificate (Facebook Inc. and Google LLC). Marketing authorisations collected through various co-marketing measures may be disclosed to VisitKarelia’s partners, but the private person is informed of the receiving party and the purpose of the disclosure in connection with the consent. Personal data will not be disclosed outside the VisitKarelia marketing register without a separate consent.
8. Principles for the protection of the register
The computers are sufficiently guarded, and only certain individuals can access them with a username and password. The information contained in the registers is only available to VisitKarelia unless a separate consent has been requested.
9. Right of access and its implementation
Each person entered in the register has the right to inspect the data stored on them. The right of access is free of charge once a year (12 months). Requests for inspection shall be made in writing by a signed letter, by email or in person.
10. Rectification of information and its implementation
Each person entered in the register has the right to demand that incorrect information in the register be corrected. Requests for rectification shall be made in writing and in sufficient detail. Requests for rectification are addressed to the person responsible for register matters (section 2).
11. Other possible rights
Each person entered in the register has the right to prohibit the processing and use of their personal data for the purposes referred to in section 4. Requests for prohibition are addressed to the person responsible for register matters (section 2.) You can remove your email address using the link at the end of the newsletters and email marketing messages.
